GCC 7.2.  We previously tested with 6.1 and that worked too.

Try switching to a static C++ runtime library:

  ./bootstrap -- -DCMAKE_EXE_LINKER_FLAGS='-static-libstdc++ -static-libgcc -Wl,-bbigtoc'
