[CMake] /MD versus /MT

I am trying to link a project on windows.

The final build.make as /MT in it, but I also see:


numbersix.cary$ grep CXX_FLAGS_RELEASE:STRING CMakeCache.txt
CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS_RELEASE:STRING=/MD /O2


Any understanding of how I could get to this inconsistency?
