I missed the exciting discussion over the holidays about Mac install
issues. I was happy to see that an install location choice is now
possible. But I can confirm Karl's observations, and have to agree that
it is odd.
Is this simply a bug? Surely Apple's Installer application is not so
inflexible that this is the best possible?
Additionally, is it normal that the items installed (files and folders)
have file owner and group both as 501? My user id is not 501.
