[CMake] REGEX ^ and $ do not match on multi-line <input>

  I think you can use this trick to work around your issue:

  STRING(REGEX REPLACE "\r?\n" ";" ENT "${input}")
  FOREACH(line ${ENT})
  # do the match on each line
