[CMake] configuration of external libraries

Hello,

I want to integrate the build process of some external libraries (jpeg and libtiff) into my CMake based project. The source code of these libs is slightly modified, so using the stanard CMake macros for JPEG and TIFF will not be sufficient.
I would prefer to call the configure scripts of the libs via CMake. How can I do that or is there a more common method to build these standard libs ? 

Any suggestions ?
