It's a known missing feature, the cmake developers have it on their todo. 
Maybe you could file a bug report/feature request. 
 
You can test with IF(): 
WIN32 
UNIX 
CYGWIN 
MINGW 
APPLE 
 
You can test also 
IF("${CMAKE_SYSTEM}" MATCHES "Linux"), see the cmake wiki page "useful 
cmake variables".
