It was using vtk. Maybe I didn't run cmake on the vtk tree first. I still have the old build, I'll
try that.

What errors did you get? I just tried :
1. run cmake 1.4.7 on Insight
2. run cmake 1.6.0 with the same binary
3. build Insight, there were no problems.

I did not use VTK in the build. Did you re-run cmake 1.6 on the VTK that
ITK was using before running the new cmake on the itk binary directory.

What is the recommended transition from an earlier cmake? For example, on Windows VS 6, I just
updated and tried to build Insight in the same binary directory that I used with a previous cmake. I
ended up with hundreds of compile errors. When I ran cmakesetup, I was warned about my compiler
having changed.

Then, I created a fresh build directory, starting from scratch, and all seems well so far.

So, is it best to start fresh when updating to a new cmake?
