There is no guarantee that CMAKE_<LANG>_COMPILER_TARGET will get into master 
before the release. That's why I recommended not merging the other topic.

I also wonder if CMAKE_OSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET should be replaced with 
CMAKE_<LANG>_COMPILER_TARGET ...
