I retract my proposal and deleted the branch from stage.
Since it was decided by KDE that the next generation of KDE libraries will
make use of imported target names directly I think it doesn't make sense to
add another "standard" variable nobody uses.
IMO this also means that also in the future there will be no standard for the
naming of the results of a find_package() call.
