0005816: A target for Make or similar that only lists the more important targets.
When using 'make help' after cmake [on a system using make of course], then if the project contains a large number of c files in a directory, the resulting list of single file .s, .i, and .o targets can be very long and obscure the existence of useful targets mentioned at the top of the list. I suggest this should be only given with something like 'make all-help' or 'make help-verbose' and the default help should just list the targets defined for the project plus maybe a few important defaults like all, rebuild-cache, edit-cache, clean, depend. A line indicating that single-file targets are available should be sufficient most of the time.

Sending issues I'm not actively working on to the backlog to await someone with time for them.

If an issue you care about is sent to the backlog when you feel it should have been addressed in a different manner, please bring it up on the CMake mailing list for discussion. Sign up for the mailing list here, if you're not already on it:

It's easy to re-activate a bug here if you can find a CMake developer or contributor who has the bandwidth to take it on.
