Summary0003844: Need command line parsing framework
DescriptionThis bug report is a central place to reference bugs related to command line parsing.

Currently the command line parsing in CMake is very ad-hoc. Options are first parsed by the cmDocumentation object and later by cmake::SetArgs. This results in bad error messages in some cases.

We may need to extend kwsys's command line parser class to deal with all cases mentioned here.

Bug 0002495 complains about a bad error when an invalid -G option is given.

Bug 0000824 asks for response file support.

Bug 0003293 asks for unix-style command line options.
