using "Visual Studio 10", but now I can not even find my stdlib
headers (e.g. stdio.h) within the Visual Studio 10 installation</em>

So, in the end it was a broken VS2010 installation caused by
registry errors maybe caused by installation of a VS preview.<br>
<br>
I fixed it by copying the files from a working installation onto my
machine. Dirty, but works.<br>
