Thanks all, for the replies...
I now know that I need to install cmake-curses-gui. However (on my Ubuntu hardy)
apt-get does not find this package. Do I have to specify a repository in my sources.list
where it can find this package? I am also ready to compile from source, if that
is the only way.....

It would really help me if someone can 1) point me to the correct way of installing
ccmake with apt-get or 2) point me to the latest source tar ball, so that I can
build it.

thanks again,
